PRV293: Enhancing Wireless Communication Learning Through Interactive Hands-On Trainer Applications Using 433 MHz LoRa Networks

Aslinda Binti Zamah Shari Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abduk Aziz Shah

The development of interactive hands-on trainer applications using 433 MHz LoRa networks represents an innovative approach to enhancing the teaching and learning of wireless communication systems for students in the Diploma in Electronic Engineering (Communication) program. Specifically designed for the DEP50063 Wireless Communication course, this project aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills by providing students with the opportunity to engage in real-world applications of wireless communication. This trainer focuses on Topic 1.0: Wireless Communication System, and aligns with the polytechnic curriculum to fulfill Teaching and Learning (T&L) requirements. The primary objectives of this project are to develop an efficient and effective trainer to support the learning process, expose students to IoT technologies, and improve the efficiency of practical sessions. By engaging students in hands-on experience, the trainer encourages exploration, enhances skill development, and facilitates the integration of theoretical concepts into practical work. Feedback from students and lecturers has been overwhelmingly positive, with a majority agreeing that the trainer significantly enhances their understanding of wireless communication and supports a more engaging and effective learning environment.
