This project proposes an automated plant watering system that monitors and controls the plants via web apps using sensors and the Internet of Things (IoT). It uses an Internet of Things sensor to measure temperature and humidity, automatically irrigates plants and gathers the soil moisture value. The Web Development Life Cycle (WDLC) has been choosen as a plan and methodology for the web development phase. With the use of collaborative filtering, content-based filtering, and hybrid models for machine learning algorithms, this system will be able to assist farmers in choosing which crops to plant at what time based on the soil, weather, and environment. This will help maximize profits and improve planning for farmers and smallholders.
