The Classroom Inventory Management System (CIMS) is developed to overcome the inefficiencies and errors of the manual inventory management currently used at KPM Beranang (KPMB). Manual tracking often results in inaccurate records, difficulty in monitoring inventory conditions and increased administrative workload. The primary objective of CIMS is to provide a centralized, reliable and systematic platform for managing classroom inventories across all teaching facilities within KPMB. The system manages essential classroom items including tables, chairs, computers and other teaching equipment. In addition, it also provides a mechanism for users to submit, track and resolve complaints regarding inventory issues.
CIMS integrates several core functionalities like inventory data recording and updating, equipment status tracking, user authentication and automated report generation. The system supports 3 level of users which are complainer, staff and admin, each with specific access and privileges. The system is developed by using HTML, CSS and JavaScript for the user interface. Meanwhile, Django is utilized as the backend framework to handle application logic and communication with the database. SQLite is implemented as the primary database management system for efficient and structured data storage.
The implementation of CIMS is expected to enhance the accuracy of inventory records, reduce manual workload, strengthen asset accountability and support timely decision-making that related to classroom facilities. Through its organized structure and user-friendly interface, CIMS contributes to a more efficient and transparent classroom inventory management process within KPMB.
