Bamboo biochar has been widely used for research applications and by combining with ZnO can improve the photocatalytic activity. There is a need for more effective and sustainable alternatives for water treatment. Biochar was pretreated by soaking in ethanol and dried in oven. The precursors were mixed in 1:1 of ethanol and deionized water and heated, dried and calcined. The analysis of the composite was done using FTIR, XRD and TGA and confirmed that ZnO successfully incorporated onto biochar and has high thermal stability after calcination. The photocatalytic activity test results a successful degradation of methylene blue using the composite. Therefore, the research able to achieve.
