This project develops a compact, low-cost multipurpose orbital shaker to address the limited accessibility of conventional laboratory mixing equipment, which is often bulky and expensive. The proposed shaker features a 400 mm × 400 mm tabletop footprint and is built using cost-effective components, targeting a total parts budget of RM 300–500. The design process integrates mechanical modelling, structural fabrication, electronic circuit and PCB development, and embedded firmware with Bluetooth-based IoT control. Performance is evaluated through load, speed accuracy, vibration, energy consumption, and usability testing. The expected outcome is a portable, remotely programmable shaker that matches mid-range commercial performance while significantly reducing cost and enhancing hands-on learning opportunities.
