In the field of electrical engineering, students often face difficulties in understanding and applying Internet of Things (IoT) concepts in a practical manner due to the limited exposure to hands-on training. The objective of this project is to design an affordable and user friendly Smart Home System Kit to assist students in understanding the fundamental concepts of smart home automation, safety, and energy management. This kit integrates components such as an ESP32 microcontroller, flame sensor, MQ-2 gas sensor, motion sensor, RFID module, and camera, and can be monitored through the Blynk mobile application. Through software development using the Arduino IDE and hardware assembly on a printed circuit board (PCB), students are able to understand how sensors and actuators interact within a real smart system. This project aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice, while also enhancing students’ interest in the field of IoT and modern automation technology.
