Teaching English vocabulary to university students requires engaging and effective strategies that promote active participation and deeper understanding. This study explores the integration of the classic board game Guess Who? into English language instruction to enhance vocabulary acquisition among tertiary-level learners. Traditional approaches to vocabulary teaching often lack interactivity and may not adequately address diverse learning styles. By incorporating Guess Who?, an interactive and deductive game, this research examines its effectiveness in improving vocabulary retention and usage in university classroom contexts. A mixed-methods research design is employed, combining quantitative measures of vocabulary gains with qualitative analyses of student engagement and perceptions. The findings are intended to offer practical insights for educators into gamified language instruction, highlighting the potential of board-game-based learning to motivate university students, encourage active participation, and foster a dynamic learning environment conducive to vocabulary development.
