ShellVate SmartTag is an innovative bioplastic developed through the integration of biology and biotechnology, utilizing discarded seashell waste collected from coastal areas. Rich in calcium carbonate, the seashells are cleaned, dried, ground, and blended with biodegradable polymers to produce eco-friendly bioplastic films. This innovation addresses marine waste pollution while promoting circular economy practices. Near Field Communication (NFC) sticker technology is embedded as a SmartTag to provide digital access to product information, material composition, and biodegradation timelines. The SmartTag also enables monitoring of the biodegradation period, supporting environmental awareness and responsible consumption aligned with global sustainability goals and future green innovations
