Senior citizens in Malaysia are increasingly vulnerable to cyber threats such as online scams, phishing, impersonation and identity theft due to low digital literacy and the complexity of existing cybersecurity resources. MyCERT statistics show that fraud remains the highest reported cybersecurity incident annually, while CyberSecurity Malaysia highlights those elderly users are among the most frequently targeted groups. In order to address this gap, CyberCare App is developed, a senior-friendly mobile application featuring simplified infographics, large fonts, high-contrast interfaces, intuitive navigation and an interactive quiz to strengthen understanding. The app was designed, developed and validated with input from CyberSecurity Malaysia to ensure accuracy and relevance. Evaluation through user testing and questionnaires involving respondents aged 50 and above demonstrated improved awareness of scam types, warning signs and preventive actions. Overall, CyberCare App shows strong potential as an accessible and effective tool to enhance cybersecurity awareness among Malaysian senior citizens.
