The Grammar Tower Challenge is an innovative educational tool designed to enhance grammar proficiency through an interactive and engaging learning experience. Inspired by the classic Jenga game, this activity incorporated grammar tasks on each block, requiring participants to complete the tasks correctly before continuing to build the tower. This study investigated the effectiveness of the Grammar Tower Challenge in improving grammar retention, engagement, and collaborative skills among undergraduate students enrolled in the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course at a Malaysian university. A quasi-experimental design was employed, involving an experimental group that participated in the Grammar Tower Challenge and a control group that engaged in traditional grammar exercises. Pre- and post-tests measured improvements in grammar knowledge, while surveys and focus group interviews captured participants’ perceptions of the learning experience. The findings revealed that the Grammar Tower Challenge significantly enhanced students’ motivation, grammar retention, and teamwork compared to traditional methods. This study contributes to the growing body of research on gamified learning and provides practical insights for integrating game-based activities into higher education pedagogy.
