EcoShell Flex is an innovative biodegradable bioplastic developed from waste eggshells, addressing both plastic pollution and food waste management challenges. Eggshells, an abundant agro-industrial byproduct, are rich in calcium carbonate and organic matrix components that can be effectively valorized as functional fillers in biopolymer systems. In EcoShell Flex, processed eggshell powder is combined with bio-based polymer matrices and natural plasticizers to produce a flexible, durable, and environmentally sustainable material. The resulting bioplastic demonstrates improved mechanical strength, thermal stability, and biodegradability compared to conventional petroleum-based plastics. Additionally, the utilization of eggshell waste reduces landfill burden and lowers raw material costs, contributing to a circular economy model. EcoShell Flex is suitable for applications such as packaging, disposable products, and agricultural films, where flexibility and environmental compatibility are critical. This study highlights the potential of eggshell-derived bioplastics as a viable alternative to conventional plastics, promoting sustainable material innovation while reducing environmental impact.
