Liu Changyu UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI MALAYSIA

ETHNO-ECO Tanjung Piai is a community-based ethno-ecotourism product developed for Tanjung Piai National Park, integrating mangrove conservation, Bugis cultural heritage, and local entrepreneurship. The one-day experiential package combines low-impact ecological activities, such as mangrove planting and eco-trails, with cultural heritage visits and local SME engagement. The product supports SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 11 (Sustainable Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Tourism), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land) by generating community income while enhancing biodiversity conservation awareness. This initiative demonstrates a scalable, market-ready model balancing environmental sustainability, cultural preservation, and community empowerment.
