Inadequate knowledge sharing is a critical barrier to achieving organizational objectives, diminishing individual and organizational performance. The situation is exacerbated when employees conceal their knowledge, significantly impeding the organization’s development. The occurrence of knowledge concealment hinders the effective sharing of knowledge within the organization and disrupts the seamless flow of knowledge. Despite extensive research regarding knowledge concealment within large private sectors, there remains insufficient attention dedicated to this phenomenon in the public sector. This gap has prompted the researcher to examine the knowledge concealment predictors in Malaysia and propose a knowledge concealment predictors model among the knowledge professionals in the Malaysian public sector. The novelty and uniqueness of this proposed model present significant advantages for researchers, knowledge professionals, policy makers, as well as the government of Malaysia. In a nutshell, this study is crucial in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Pillar 8, which focuses on Decent Work and Economic Growth, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Pillar 9 pertains to Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and also the Twelfth Malaysia Plan (2021–2025) which are focusing on policy enabler four (4), strengthening the public service to create a prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable Malaysia.
