Little Pirates is an interactive game that combines two general types of games, namely dice games and treasure hunt, available both digitally and physically, which are accessible in an online resource. The materials used consist of recycled items, including cardboards, A4 paper, dice, and printed materials. Little Pirates aims to overcome the issue of low writing skills and low engagement in writing. The objective of this game is to explore how Little Pirates can improve pupils’ ability to construct grammatically correct simple or compound sentences using appropriate parts of speech and sentence formation rules as well as to explore how Little Pirates enhances pupils’ active participation in writing tasks through interactive and competitive gameplay. This research employs an action research methodology to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of the game in writing skills and engagement in writing. The findings reveal that the game has proven positive results in improving skills in writing and building class participation during writing activities. In conclusion, Little Pirates is an interactive game that fosters sentence construction skills, while also meeting the diverse learning needs of pupils.
