The ScrubSquad project explores the development of an innovative organic body scrub that combines natural ingredients with sustainable practices to promote skin health and environmental responsibility. In response to growing concerns about the environmental impact of synthetic chemicals in personal care products, this project aims to create a biodegradable, non-toxic alternative using locally sourced, organic ingredients. The body scrub incorporates exfoliating agents such as finely ground sugar, salt, and plant-based powders, alongside skin-nourishing oils like coconut and almond oil, known for their moisturizing and antimicrobial properties (Vasanthi & Kumar, 2021; Patel & Sharma, 2017). Additionally, natural essential oils, such as lavender and peppermint, are used for fragrance and therapeutic benefits (Sharma et al., 2019). The formulation is designed to effectively exfoliate dead skin cells, hydrate, and enhance the skin’s natural barrier without causing irritation or harm to the environment. This study evaluates the product's effectiveness in terms of exfoliation, hydration, and skin health, while also considering its environmental impact, including biodegradability and packaging sustainability. Results suggest that organic body scrubs, when formulated with carefully selected ingredients, can provide a sustainable and effective alternative to commercial products that often contain harmful chemicals (Richmond & Walker, 2019). The project underscores the importance of innovation in personal care products that align with both consumer health and ecological sustainability.
