Abstract

This project introduces an integrated IoT-based environmental monitoring and automated control system using the ESP32 microcontroller. The system measures temperature, humidity, air quality, atmospheric pressure, altitude, and light intensity through the BME680 and LDR sensors. Real-time sensor data are transmitted via Wi-Fi to an Apache Tomcat server, processed using JSP middleware, and stored in a MySQL database. A web-based dashboard enables users to monitor live readings and historical trends while also providing manual control options for the fan, lamp, and mist modules. In addition, the system includes an automated mode in which actuators operate based on predefined environmental thresholds, enabling autonomous climate regulation. Testing demonstrated accurate sensor performance, stable wireless communication, and responsive actuator control with minimal latency. The results confirm that the proposed system is reliable, low-cost, and scalable, making it suitable for applications such as smart classrooms, laboratories, indoor farming, and energy-efficient building management.
