There is a gradual increase of difficulty in history learning as it often depends on memorization that results in low engagement among secondary students. Road to Merdeka: A Historical Board Game on Malaysia’s Formation Journey's goal is to deepen historical understanding while cultivating national identity with a fun, competitive and collaborative game. Its novelty lies in the QR codes on every card that enables players to scan and instantly access additional information and historical timelines. The game holds significant commercial potential with the effectiveness of Game-Based Learning in making Malaysian history more accessible and meaningful for today’s students. It is an effective solution for deepening historical understanding and equipping students with essential critical thinking skills.
