With the new economy, the cost of plastic bags is increasing rapidly and affecting Malaysian citizens, as plastic bags are used on a daily basis. Hence, we want to introduce ‘ECHO PLASTIC’ as an alternative for production companies to reduce their financial burden. Our objective is to help Malaysia develop a product that contributes not only to society but also to the environment with its degradable characteristics. By using plastic made from natural ingredients like agar (a gelatinous substance derived from plants), we are able to create a plastic substitute that is durable and tough. This product is made by combining glycerin (a natural sugar compound) with agar and drying it onto a sheet pan. Our product also focuses on making the task of disposing of trash easier, as it is infused with 100% natural fruit fragrance. These features promote more sustainable plastic usage in Malaysia while enhancing cost efficiency, as agar is much cheaper compared to crude oil. This innovation addresses a critical challenge, given that Malaysia spends approximately RM 80 billion annually on its plastic industry. ‘ECHO PLASTIC’ is committed to supporting Malaysia in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 12, under the slogan: ‘Green Tech, Great Impact.’
