YC515: SMART ENERGY MANAGEMENT

Norfadzliah Binti Yusof MRSM TERENDAK

In most homes and institutions, the use of electrical energy is often not well controlled. Lights, fans, or air conditioners are frequently left switched on even when no one is in the room.

This leads to high energy wastage, increased electricity bills, and negative impacts on the environment due to the increased use of non-renewable energy resources.

In addition, users find it difficult to monitor energy consumption in real time and do not have systems that are able to provide feedback or automatic recommendations.

  • The first objective is to reduce electrical energy wastage through a real-time monitoring system that can detect excessive energy usage in a particular space.
  • The second objective is to increase user awareness of energy consumption by providing visual, easy-to-understand data and analysis of electricity usage.
  • The third objective is to develop an automated system that can control electrical appliances based on real conditions such as temperature, lighting, and human presence
