YC129: ChickAI : AI-Powered Platform For Poultry Disease Outbreak Detection

Peemnara Weladee Montfort College

Poultry diseases such as Newcastle disease, Fowl Pox, and Avian Cholera remain major challenges for small-scale farmers in rural areas, where access to fast and accurate diagnosis is often limited. To address this issue, our team developed “ChickAI”, a mobile application that leverages AI to detect chicken diseases based on external symptoms observed from photos, along with contextual factors such as season. The system combines a CNN model with a rule-based approach to assess risk levels and provide initial management suggestions. User data is stored in a cloud database, and the app displays real-time outbreak risk locations on an interactive map. The model achieved an accuracy of 87.25% and is planned to be tested with farms in northern Thailand, with the goal of expanding nationwide to enhance the country’s agricultural and livestock disease management.
