A natural disaster is a phenomenon caused by the earth's natural forces in various forms, such as floods, drought, landslides, thunderstorms, and earthquakes. In Malaysia, many natural disasters have occurred, such as landslides on Kupang-Gerik-Jeli East East Road, which cracked and settled in early 2022. In the middle of 2024, a flash flood tragedy in Gerik affected shops and vehicles. The continuous heavy rain caused flash floods and overflowing water into several shops in Gerik town, according to a reporter from Astro Awani. Drought also significantly impacts daily life and the agricultural sector, which is rice cultivation. Among the current problems, most of the existing systems only focus on one phenomenon, like floods and droughts. In addition, systems like sirens can only be heard by people around the area, causing people who live far away to take late action when a natural event occurs near their area. In addition, less information is provided about the natural disaster to the community, leading to limited awareness of the impact of the natural disaster on their life and property. Therefore, an alert system with a chatbot has been proposed, with the title Natural Disaster Early Warning System, to provide early warning for the residents and visitors at one of the tourist attractions in Perak, known as Perak Agrotourism Sungai Rui.
