AI QualityGuard: Smart Plastic Inspector for Sustainable Profit is an interactive project that combines artificial intelligence, sustainability, and entrepreneurship to educate and engage students in proper plastic waste management. Using Pictoblox and Google Teachable Machine, the system detects and classifies plastic items as recyclable or non-recyclable in real time. Animated sprites provide immediate visual feedback through happy or sad emojis, making the learning process interactive and intuitive. The project incorporates a cost and profit simulation, enabling users to calculate earnings for recyclable plastics and costs for non-recyclable items, demonstrating the economic impact of recycling. Counts of clean (recyclable), dirty (recyclable) and non-recyclable plastics are tracked, offering measurable outcomes for analysis and decision-making. Aligned with SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, AI QualityGuard promotes sustainable practices, environmental awareness, and STEM learning among young learners. By combining technology, interactivity, and entrepreneurship, the project not only teaches critical thinking and problem-solving but also introduces students to business concepts in a fun, practical way. AI QualityGuard showcases how innovation can drive sustainability while highlighting the commercial potential of environmentally responsible practices, inspiring the next generation of eco-conscious innovators.
